It's Been Beachy!

Sunday morning we said goodbye to Steve and Sandra and headed off for new adventures. We were heading to Mass @ St. John Fisher where I taught 2nd grade for 12 years. Those were wonderful, spirit-filled years where I learned what it truly meant to be a teacher. I still have many ties to that community and when I walk through the church doors, I still hear the sounds of children laughing and praying and I see a younger me trying to keep all that energy from erupting! As soon as I went in, I saw Mr. and Mrs. Pompili leading the rosary and Katie Schallberger, 2nd Grade Susie's mom sat behind me!!!

Meaghan Hickey met us at Mass. I love that little girl! It seemed like just yesterday she and Alli would be sitting side by side giggling at Mass, one in pink, the other in purple.

My 2nd grade classroom. Still the same from the outside, but now there is a real playground.

Onto Meaghan's house off Shattuck. Loved her newly remodeled kitchen and her "stranded bamboo" floors.

We had a heart to heart chat and then Joe and I had to get on Sunset Highway and book it to Manzanita to see Bruce and Cheryl and Pat and Cathy Hickey.

Ahhh, the beach.... You can just feel the stress flow off of you on this beautiful spot. And if you look over the pole, Cheryl and Bruce's ocean view! Probably a few glasses of wine sped up the process, too!

Took a walk to see Pat and Cathy Hickey. My idea to take a short little jaunt over turned into one downhill and three uphill trudges. About halfway up when I was gasping for breath, Joe, ever the understanding husband, said, "get moving, Einstein. This was your idea to get some exercise!"

We finally made it and there was a reward @ the end!(besides Pat and Cathy).
Funny, I took a picture of the wine and not our friends?

We trudged back to the Phillips' and all had a delish dinner made by Cheryl and Bruce...ribs (fall off the bone), creamy potato salad and raspberry oatmeal bars! I miss living next door to Cheryl. She was always cooking up something delicious!

After much food, wine and laughter it was time to say goodby to Pat and Cathy and goodnight to Bruce and Cheryl. This beach life tired me right out!
